Standards for Public Comment
The Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards wishes to invite public comment on the following draft standards.
As a full member of the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards & Quality (CROSQ), Saint Lucia can vote for or against proposed draft regional standards. Consequently, the SLBS as the national member of the CROSQ, is pleased to advise you that the draft regional standard which pertains to your sector has been developed and is open for voting.
Interested parties are invited to access a copy of this standard indicated for review, comment and/or voting, please advise us via return e-mail using the SF 617A Ballot record Form to capture your views whether you agree, agree with comments, disagree or abstain on the requirements presented before the deadline stipulated. Should you have additional comments please use the SF 601B to capture comments specific to the standard.
FDCRS 5 Labelling of Foods -Pre-Packaged
This CARICOM Regional Standard is applicable to the labelling of all pre-packaged foods to be offered to the consumer or pre-packaged foods for catering purposes.
This standard is not applicable to food:
a) weighed or measured in or counted into the package in the presence of the purchaser;
b) intended for export only, which complies with the requirements of standards or laws on labelling of the country to which they are being exported;
c) repackaged from bulk at the place where the food is sold by retailer
